Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) on Thursday contributed Rs 500 crore to Odisha Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
The Corporation’s Chairman Surendra Kumar handed over the cheque of Rs 500 crore to Chief secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik who attended on virtual platform.
Kumar said OMC has made a growth of 5.42% during last financial year despite the pandemic and the total mineral production was 17.12 million tonne.
In the last financial year, OMC achieved a sales revenue of Rs 5,592 crore, which was 36.6% higher than previous year. OMC aims to achieve dollar one billion revenue by next year.
The Corporation is also supporting many welfare programmes of the state and is funding 10 dedicated COVID hospitals in 8 districts.
Two other corporations – Odisha Agro Industries Corporation (OAIC) and Odisha Cashew Development Corporation (OCDC) paid a dividend of Rs 3.76 crore to government.
While OAIC paid Rs 3,29,76,362 at 30% of net profit for 2017-18, Cashew Development Corporation paid a dividend of Rs 46,51,200 at 30% of the net profit for 2018-19.
Chairman of OAIC Debashis Mohanty and OSCDC Chairman Amarendra Mohanty handed over the cheques to Chief Secretary.
Among others, Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment Minister Arun Sahu, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian, Agriculture Secretary SK Vashisth and officers of three corporations were present.
