Bhubaneswar: Augmenting state government’s initiative for universal COVID-19 vaccination for eligible population, Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd (OMC) has started vaccination drive for all its employees and their dependant family members.
Chairman of the Mining Corporation Surendra Kumar inaugurated the vaccination drive at Barbil through video conference on Monday. The virtual inauguration was attended by MD, OMC, Balwant Singh; functional directors, regional managers, mines managers and other senior officials of OMC.
Speaking on the occasion, Kumar reiterated OMC’s commitment to health and welfare of its employees and their families. He said “The employees and workers at mines are foot soldiers of OMC and their health and well being is utmost priority for the Corporation.”
In the joint drive by OMC, district administrations and Apollo Hospitals, a target to administer 10,000 doses has been set, said Singh.
The vaccination drive will cover all the mining areas of OMC in Gandhamardan, South Kaliapani, Bangur, JK Road, Rayagada, Koira, and Angul regions besides the head office at Bhubaneswar, said Singh.
