Berhampur: Family members of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police, who allegedly shot dead Odisha Minister Naba Das, on Monday said they are now at their native village in Ganjam district and they will extend all cooperation in the probe in the mysterious case.
Hours after their house in Berhampur city was found locked, wife of ASI G K Das told media that wrong information was being spread on the whereabouts of the police personnel’s family members. “Reports spread that we have disappeared .. that I have fled after leaving the house locked,” said Jayanti das.
Stating that there was no one to console and stand by the family in Berhampur, she said it was not possible for her to stay at the house in Berhampur with her son and daughter. “Where can I flee? I had to come to our native village where we have our relatives and fellow villagers to support us,” she said.
Stating that she will extend full cooperation to the police in the investigation in the case involving her husband, Jayanti said she will also show the doctor’s prescription for her husband, who was being treated for ‘psychological issues.’
She had earlier stated that her husband was being treated for “psychological issues” for the past 7-8 years and under medication. It may be noted here that Naba Kishore Das was shot at by ASI Gopal Das while proceeding to attend an event at Brajarajnagar in Jharsuguda district on Sunday. Later in the evening he succumbed to bullet injury at a hospital in Bhubaneswar.
