Bhubaneswar: Gopal Das, the accused in alleged murder of Odisha minister Naba Kishore Das, underwent LVA and psychological test on Monday.
According to sources, Dr Asha Srivastava, director, Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), New Delhi, conducted both Layered Voice Analysis (LVA) and forensic psychological assessment (FPA) of Gopal in Jharsuguda.
Dr Srivastava, who arrived at Jharsuguda on Sunday to assist the Crime Branch of Odisha Police in its investigation into the case, carried out the tests on the basis of the statement of Gopal given to the police earlier. The tests were conducted to confirm the veracity of his statements.
Meanwhile, a team of psychiatrists from NIMHANS, Bangalore is set to reach Jharsuguda on Tuesday to map the socio-psychological behavior of the accused. The Crime Branch, which is probing the sensational murder case, had formed a special medical board consisting of specialists from the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
On the basis of the suggestion of the medical board, a request has been made to the NIMHANS, Bangalore to send its psychiatrists for the tests.
The Crime Branch went for the psychological tests after it came to know during investigation that the dismissed ASI had bipolar disorder and was undergoing treatment since 2014.
