Odisha Minister’s Plea To Follow Traffic Rules From New Year Day

Bhubaneswar: Transport minister Padmanabh Behera on Thursday appealed to the vehicle drivers to follow the traffic rules sincerely from the New Year Day.

He said the traffic norms like wearing helmet by pillion driver of two-wheeler will be strictly enforced from the first day of 2020. Anybody violating the rule will be imposed heavy penalty, he warned.

Besides, strict checking will be carried out against driving on wrong side of the roads, speed driving and driving under influence of alcohol. These offences would also lead to penalty of large amount, the minister said.

He further said the Transport and Police departments have been directed to enforce the traffic rules strictly from Friday.
