Nabarangpur: A minor boy was allegedly stabbed to death while another sustained critical injuries in a group clash during Goddess Durga idol immersion ceremony in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district on Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as Kiran Gadaba of Dandasi Sahi within Nabarangpur town police limits. The injured, Tejab Harijan, also from the same locality, is undergoing treatment at district headquarters hospital.
According to sources, the clash erupted at around 12 am, and took a ugly turn as one group attacked the other with sharp weapons during which Kiran was brutally stabbed. He along with Tejab, who also sustained critical injuries, were rushed to district headquarters hospital. Kiran was shifted to the ICU but he succumbed during treatment.
Tejab’s condition is stated to be stable.
Meanwhile, police have detained eight to ten people for interrogation in connection with the incident.
