Odisha MLA Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra’s Mother Subhalaxmi Devi Passes Away

Bhubaneswar: Subhalaxmi Devi, mother of Brahmagiri MLA Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra, passed away while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bhubaneswar on Thursday. She was 93.

Subhalaxmi Devi, who was suffering from age-related ailments, breathed her last in the morning while undergoing treatment in hospital, family sources said.

She was the grandmother of Upasana Mohapatra, who has been nominated by BJP to fight elections from Brahmagiri Assembly seat in the upcoming polls. She was also the mother of late Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra, Upasana’s father.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited the hospital and expressed his condolences to the bereaved family. He too prayed for the departed soul.

Several senior BJP leaders, including opposition chief whip Mohan Majhi, also visited the hospital and paid last respects to her. Family members were present at the deathbed.
