Bhubaneswar: Odisha MP Amar Patnaik found himself in a spot after a controversial post regarding a woman IAS officer on his Facebook account went viral. He immediately disclaimed the post.
The BJD MP said that his FB account was hacked after the post seeking opinion on the prospects Mission Shakti secretary Sujata R Karthikeyan quitting service to contest elections fuelled political speculation.
“If Mission Shakti Odisha’s secretary and commissioner #Sujata_Rout_Kartikeyan quits government job and becomes an MLA candidate from her birthplace Kendrapada district #Patkura constituency, then what is your opinion,” read the post.
It was originally posted by ‘Sujata R Karthikeyan Fan Club’.
“Someone seems to have hacked into my FB account to spread rumours. I am reporting the matter & investigating the same. Request not to get taken in by such rumour-mongering,” he claimed.
Though Amar Patnaik clarified that the post was the work of a hacker, it has triggered speculation in political circles about what’s cooking in the ruling dispensation.
Sujata Kartikeyan is wife of 5T secretary V K Pandian, who is perceived to be calling the shots in the ruling dispensation.
Targeting the power wielded by bureaucrats in the Naveen Patnaik government, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan recently said, “Babus in the state seemed to have replaced him as the chief minister.”
