Bhubaneswar: Union Minister and Balasore MP Pratap Sarangi on Thursday wrote to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, seeking full exemption of school fees for the wards of the COVID warriors.
Sarangi also requested the Odisha government for 50 per cent fee waiver for the remaining students in view of the prevailing pandemic.
The Union Minister also took to Twitter on Thursday to share the letter he wrote to the Odisha CM.
“There is a lurking fear that many students from the poor financial ground may discontinue their education as COVID-19 has adversely impacted the livelihood of their parents making their conditions truly indigent,” he said.
He wrote the letter after receiving petitions from people facing financial problems due to the ongoing pandemic.
