Panaji: An Odisha native has been arrested by Goa police’s crime branch for alleged illegal possession of narcotics worth Rs 40 lakh.
The arrested has been identified as Jitendra Nayak (28).
He was caught during a raid near the Margao wholesale fish market on Sunday and found in possession of 4kg of “flowering and fruiting tops of a plant suspected to be ganja”.
An FIR has been registered against him under various sections of the NDPS Act, 1985, and further investigation is underway.
