Bhubaneswar: Jyoti Chhatri and Dipi Monika Toppo, two talented products of Odisha Naval Tata Hockey High-Performance Centre (ONTHHPC), are all set to represent India in the FIH Women’s Junior World Cup in Chile.
Midfielder Jyoti and forward Dipi Monika, both 20, have also been a part of senior Indian women’s team in different competitions.
India will play their first Pool C game on November 29 against Canada before meeting Germany and Belgium on November 30 and December 2, respectively.
Established in 2019 through a collaborative effort involving Odisha government, Tata Steel and Tata Trusts (Hockey Ace Foundation), ONTHHPC is a state-of-the-art high-performance unit at Kalinga Stadium which provides world-class facilities, comprehensive training, and a residential programme for girls and boys.
The Hockey HPC, which caters to both girls and boys in its residential programme, has already produced 6 junior international and 2 sub-junior international women players.
Four sub-junior international men players also made their debut in the recent series against the Netherlands.
“We are thrilled to see our players earn a place on the national stage. This accomplishment reflects the dedication of the players, the expertise of our coaching staff, and the unwavering support from the Government of Odisha, Tata Steel, and Tata Trusts,” said Rajiv Seth, Project Director of ONTHHPC and Head Sports-Odisha, Tata Steel.
