Bhubaneswar: The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has taken cognizance of sexual exploitation of minors in Sunshine Public School at Mahaling in Odisha’s Kalahandi and has directed the district SP to conduct an inquiry into the case.
The SP has been directed to submit the report within three days.
The NCPCR, acting on a complaint regarding sexual exploitation of minors in the school, stated in its letter to the SP that “It has been brought to its notice that Govid Sahu, the owner of Sunshine Primary School, sexually exploited minors in the school. These sexual activities were done inside a separate room by Govind Sahu. He used to tempt the girls with good marks in examination and the BJD Minister of Home Dibya Shankar Mishra used to visit the school frequently. Girls as well as boys were in the activity of exploitation.”
The SP Has been asked to conduct an inquiry in accordance with the POCSO Act 2012 and submit the report in three days.
