Bhubaneswar: Prof. (Dr) Suryaprakash Chowdhury of Neurology department of Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital here, was honoured with the fellowship of World Headache Society at its international conference held in Bengaluru last month.
Around 500 neurologists from across the world attended the three-day conference (June 16 to 18), where 10 neurologists were bestowed with the fellowship.
This is the highest honour conferred by the Society, with Prof. (Dr) Chowdhury being the first neurologist from Odisha to receive it.
Prof. (Dr) Chowdhury has been conducting research on various types of headache and migraine, as well as new methods of treatment for patients to receive improved healthcare within the state.
