Sambalpur: The man-eating leopard caught from Odisha’s Nuapada district arrived in Sambalpur zoo at around 5 am on Wednesday.
The shifting process was carried out in the presence of Sambalpur DFO.
The leopard, a male, was trapped in a net on the night of November 4 at Silaribahara village adjoining Sunabeda sanctuary, where it killed a 45-year old woman the previous day. It was later shifted shifted to the Sadar Forest Range Office.
The eight-year-old big cat had reportedly killed three persons near the sanctuary since March. It mauled a minor boy to death at Katingpani village on October 30, critically injured a 7-year-old boy on November 4.
