Cuttack: Mangalabag police here have arrested one of the associates of black magic practitioner Maulana Kaifi Khan, who made a fortune with the business of ‘driving evil spirits’ from people’s houses.
The accused has been identified as Israel and he allegedly worked as a middleman for Kaifi in the cheating cases amounting to a staggering Rs 1.11 crore. So far, six cases have been filed against him.
Meanwhile, Mangalabag police has taken Kaifi on a four-day remand for further questioning in the cases. A special police team has been formed to interrogate him. He was arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by a Ranihat-based woman who accused him of duping her to the tune of Rs 62 lakh.

In all the above case, the occult practioner cheated them on the pretext of on the pretext of driving away evil forces from their houses
>> He also duped a resident of Sompur in Kishan Nagar of Rs 15 lakh to help her find a job and then asked her to invest in diamond business
>> Sk Adil of Kesharpur within Mangalabag police limits alleged that Kaifi cheated him of Rs 5 lakh on the pretext of performing black magic for safe conception of her sister-in-law.
Police have frozen Kaifi’s 11 bank accounts including fixed deposits in Sahara, LIC policies, Saving account in SBI, Bank of Baroda, Allahabad Bank and Central Bank of India. Earlier, 70 mobile phones, 20 expensive watches, Rs 2.76 lakh in cash, two cars (Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Brezza), brass idols, a Royal Enfield Bullet were seized from his possession.
