Puri: An elderly man died after being hit by as a passenger bus on National Highway (NH) 316 near Maltipatpur in Odisha’s Puri on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Prabhakar Mishra (75) of Puri.
According to sources, Mishra was crushed to death under the passenger bus on its way to Bhubaneswar from Puri on the NH at 1.30 pm.
On getting the information, Chandanpur police arrived at the spot and recovered the body. They sent the body to the district headquarter hospital (DHH) at Puri for postmortem and filed a case of unnatural death.
The bus was also seized and kept at the police station to ascertain further details about the accident.
