Bhubaneswar: Exercising power conferred under Section 35 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi on Sunday ordered for closure of all malls in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack till March 31.
The order will come into effect from Monday (March 16).
The decision was taken to check the spread of the coronavirus infection after the Odisha government on Friday declared the outbreak as a ‘state disaster’.
Earlier in the day, Sarangi had tweeted that all coaching/tuition centres would remain closed from Sunday. He had then ordered for restricted entry to shopping malls and super markets in the city.
