Puri: Two days after the Odisha government declared the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak as a ‘state disaster’, the Puri district administration on Saturday appealed to people to drop their plans of visiting the Pilgrim Town.
In a message on the official Twitter handle of the district administration, Collector Balwant Singh advised those suffering from cold, cough or fever against visiting Puri. “All tourist buses in the district have been taken off-road,” he said.
He also appealed to Puri denizens not to believe in fake news and desist from spreading rumours about COVID-19.
He asked them to avoid social gatherings and if possible, stay indoors.
The Collector also requested the people to cooperate with the administration and inform about any coronavirus suspect, who had visited the district recently.
