Bhubaneswar: Opera artist Rani Panda has landed herself with another controversy with a social media post stating that some political leaders were trying to shoot her dead.
In a Facebook post, Rani said ,”I have information that some political leaders are planning to kill me. If I reveal the details I have with me, they would eliminate me by firing.”
Though she said it was a grand and big plan to silence her, she did not reveal the details about the political leaders or the information she had about them. However, she said she committed a mistake by getting help from them.
“I have earned their wrath due to personal reasons. People of Odisha will know about them after investigation into my death. If things will go too far and I am unable to bear the tension, I will approach Sir,” she said.
The opera artist had gained overnight popularity for her sizzling dance moves in 2020. The Commissionerate Police, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Jatra organising committee had banned her troupe Jatra Sachidanandam from staging opera at Khandagiri Jatra Mahotsav over obscene dance.
Rani has also been active in political field by campaigning for candidates in different elections. What was considered as a bid to win people’s sympathy and make an image makeover, she had donated Rs 50,000 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) for COVID pandemic.
