Cuttack: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has alerted the job aspirants about fake selection letters issued by the fraudsters and has requested them to inform it in such cases.
In the wake of some fake advertisements for recruitment by the OPSC, the Commission issued the alert in its website. “It has come to the notice of the Commission that some fake advertisements for recruitments in the name of OPSC along with links for deposit of application fees are available in social media. This may mislead innocent candidates, who can fall into trap of the fraud,” it said.
Stating that the General Administration and Public Grievance department has already notified that the fees for all categories of candidates are exempted, the Commission said there is no provision in its e-Chayan (online application portal) for accepting the fees.
Advising the candidates to be aware of such misleading advertisements in social media, the OPSC said it follows a robust, transparent and merit-based process in all the recruitments. “Any assurance for selection by unscrupulous elements should not only be ignored, but also brought to our notice for remedial measures,” it added.
It has appealed to the candidates to contact OPSC on toll-free numbers 0671-2304090 and 0671-2301107 and send e-mail if they came across such bogus advertisements or notices.
