Bhubaneswar: Odisha para archer Payal Nag will represent India at the World Archery Para Series meet in Bangkok later this month.
The 18-year-old Payal will compete in the women’s Compound Open event in the championshi
p to be held in the Thailand capital from March 29 to April 5.
This will be her second international event, having made her debut at the Asian Para Youth Games in Dubai last December.
Daughter of migrant labourers from Odisha’s Balangir district, Payal lost all four of her limbs after coming into contact with a live wire at a brick kiln in 2015 when he was just seven years old.
She took to archery five years ago and has made rapid progress since then, finishing on the podium in back-to-back National Para Archery championships.
In four weeks’ time, Payal will be striving to win her maiden international medal.
