Bhubaneswar: Odisha shuttlers, led by the legendary Pramod Bhagat, excelled at the Brazil Para Badminton International 2023.
Paralympic and World champion Pramod claimed gold in doubles and silver in singles, while G Dillaswar Rao bagged bronze in doubles in the championship which concluded in Sao Paulo on Sunday.
Pramod and Sukant Kadam overcame the challenge of Korean pair Joo Dongjae and Shin Kyung-Hwan in a fiercely fought men’s SL3-SL4 men’s doubles final. Pramod and Sukant won 22-20, 21-19.
In the SL3 men’s singles final, Pramod was second-best against fellow-Indian Kumar Nitesh, with Nitesh triumphing 21-12, 21-13 in the title-round clash.
Dillaswar, partnering fellow-Indian Naveen Sivakumar clinched bronze in SL3-SL4 category after losing the semifinal to Koreans Dongjae and Shin.
