Bhubaneswar: Pramod Kumar Bindhani, Superintending Engineer of Paradip Port in Odisha, has been dismissed from service for allegedly getting job by submitting fake caste certificate.
The action was taken by the Paradip Port Authority following the directive of the State Level Screening Committee (SLSC) based on the findings of the probe conducted into the caste certificate submitted by Bindhani for getting the job, official sources said on Tuesday.
Bindhani had joined the Paradip Port as an Assistant Engineer in 1991 and it was alleged that he had submitted fake caste certificate to get the job. He was later promoted as Executive Engineer in 2002 and Superintending Engineer in 2007.
It may be noted here that the National Commission for Scheduled Tribe had in 2021 directed the Paradip Port authorities to conduct a probe to ascertain the veracity of Bindhani’s certificate. The matter was pending with the SLSC following a High Court order.
After getting the matter investigated by different agencies, the SLSC finally issued instruction for dismissal of Bindhani from service. Based on this order, the Paradip Port authorities removed him from service.
