Odisha Patient Among Two killed Car Crash In Andhra’s Srikakulam; 5 Others Injured



Bhubaneswar: Two persons died and five others from Odisha’s Chikiti in Ganjam district were injured on Sunday when a car in which they were travelling rammed into a stationary vehicle in Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam district on Sunday.

According to reports, the accident took place on the national highway near Palavalasa in Nandigam Mandal when a patient along with his family members was en route to Visakhapatnam for treatment. The front of the car suffered extens

ive damage in the crash. The deceased have been identified as Vashipilli Dalaya, the patient, and his sister-in-law, Vashipilli Mohini, of Sunapur village.

The injured victims were immediately rushed to to the government hospital at Tekkali and one among them was later shifted to Srikakulam following deterioration in condition.

Police registered a case and investigating the circumstances leading to the accident.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep grief over the deaths and announced ex gratia assistance of Rs 4 lakh each from the CMRF to the next of kin.
