Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday placed two conditions before the Centre for the merger of Biju Swaysthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) with Ayushman Bharat Yojana.

Briefing the media here, Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das said the state government has proposed the Centre not to make Aadhaar card mandatory for the patients willing to undergo treatment at government hospitals. “The Aadhaar card can be made mandatory for private hospitals,” he added.

While the Centre has decided to cover 62 lakh beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat Yojana for treatment in the private hospitals, the state government wants 70 lakh BSKY beneficiaries to be included for the same, he said.

“The state government has apprised the Centre of its two conditions in a letter in September and December last year. But there has been no response till date,” he added.
