Bhubaneswar: A dedicated ambulance corridor will be constructed between Khandagiri and AIIM-Bhubaneswar, Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan informed on Thursday.
“AIIMS Director had requested for improving connectivity between the hospital and the national highway during a review meeting the previous day. Accordingly, we proposed that the National Highways authorities build a 3‑lane service road from Khandagiri to Kalinga Nagar, with one lane reserved exclusively for ambulances. This will allow faster, unobstructed access to AIIMS, especially during emergencies,” the Minister told reporters.
The NHAI has sought a proposal for the ambulance corridor from the government and the regional officers here have supported the move, he added.
