Bhubaneswar: The Culture Department is planning to set up a doll museum in Odisha soon to introduce children to the traditional culture and costumes of the state.
“We have received some proposals to set up a doll museum in Odisha. We are planning to soon materialize the proposal and discussing with the government regarding this,” Odisha Language, Literature and Culture Department Director Ranjan Kumar Das said,
According to officials, the proposed doll museum will be set up on the lines of the one in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
As there are several types of puppet dance culture in Odisha, these will be showcased in the proposed museum, the officials said. Dolls from other states will also be on display.
