Bhubaneswar: The annual Plus II Examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) commenced at 1145 centres across Odisha on Wednesday.
A total of 3,57,942 students have been registered to appear for the exams. While 2,33,855 students are of Arts stream, 93,894 belong to Science stream, 24,331 are from Commerce stream and 5862 from Vocational stream.
The examinations are being conducted under the CCTV surveillance. The examinations will start at 10 am on the scheduled days and conclude on April 5, sources said.
The students are allowed to enter the examination centres 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the exams.
A total of 202 examination management hubs have been created, where the question papers are being stored.
While answer sheets will be given to the candidates 15 minutes before the exam, question papers will be provided to them five minutes prior to the exam.
Special squads have been formed by the CHSE to check malpractice during the examination.
Meanwhile, the agitating teachers of 662 category colleges have agreed to take part in teh examinations in the interest of students.
The state government has sought time till March 12 for positive consideration of the teachers’demands including pay hike and removal of anomalies, the sources added.
