Koraput: A police team from Koraput arrested three persons from Bihar for their alleged involvement in duping innocent people of lakhs of rupees in Odisha through online fraud.
The arrested persons were identified as Bhola Prasad (46), Gourav Kumar (23) and Vikas Kumar (23) of Chakbai village in Nawada district of Bihar.
Apart from arresting the accused persons, police have also recovered Rs 1.5 lakh cash, one laptop, 14 mobiles and three passbooks from their possession, sources said.
Acting on complaints about people being duped of huge money through online fraud, a team of the Cyber Crime police of Koraput proceeded to Bihar to nab the accused persons.
During investigation, one of the accused’s mobile phone was found active and the team tracked the locations of the three with the help of Bihar police. The three youths were arrested for having committed fraud involving lakhs of rupees.
Further investigation is in progress and efforts are on to track others involved in the racket.
