Berhampur: Police arrested four inter-state robbers on charges of stealing 40 kg silver from a passenger bus near Bhejiput under Khallikote police limits in Ganjam district.
A team of Khallikote police arrested four members of the gang on Sunday night and produced them in the court on the following day. Chhatrapur SDPO Gourahari Sahu said the police will seek their custodial remand from the court.
The accused were identified as Amein Khan (27), Firoj Khan (35), Sadik Khan (38), and Mustak Khan (40), all belonging to Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh.
Their modus operandi was travelling in expensive SUVs and looting jewellery shops and businessmen travelling in passenger buses, the police said. The accused were also involved in a loot in Dhenkanal district few days back, the SDPO added.
