Nabarangpur: Three weeks after the body of a 16-year-old minor girl was found on the outskirts of Kosagumuda village in Odisha’s Nabarangpur, the police on Friday confirmed the murder with the arrest of the two accused. They have been identified as Khadi Bhatra and Badi Majhi.
Briefing mediapersons after their arrest, Nabarangpur SP, Kukshalkar Nitin Dagdu said that one-sided love was the cause of the murder. “The two accused have stated that that they had killed her as she did not accept their love,” he added.
He also said that the post-mortem report states that the victim was not raped.
The SP, however, said that the involvement of more persons cannot be ruled out as the police have found two pairs of jeans from the murder spot. “We will further interrogate the two accused to get details from them,” he added.
