Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police collected Rs 25,07,900 as fine from 9,400 violators of COVID-19 guidelines on the first day of special enforcement drive.
Police said the violators were caught for not wearing mask or wearing it properly and social distancing rules.
It may be mentioned that 136 platoon forces have been engaged in the state to intensify COVID enforcement measures. The drive is led by district SsP/DCsP and senior officers.
Police also urged the people to follow COVID appropriate behaviour and help in checking the cases from spreading.
It may be mentioned here that in view of second wave of COVID-19, the Odisha Government on Tuesday directed the police to conduct a 10-day drive for strict enforcement of COVID-19 safety protocols.
