Bhubaneswar: Following a series of serious allegations against him, police on Thursday picked up senior lawyer and head of Manavbad Sangathan Manas Das from his house in the city.
Sources said a special team of Khurda Police led by SDPO Sushil Mishra picked up Das and his son Manoranjan from his house at Saheed Nagar. They took the two to Khurda for interrogation.
Notably, Das and his followers face allegations like murder, threatening and torturing tribals and extortion.
Sources said police have arrested Das. However, police are yet to officially confirm the news.
