Cuttack: In its mission to trace out the missing children of the state, the Odisha Police has so far rescued 1497 children in a special operation Paree-2 till September 11.
Like previous years, eight composite teams of the Crime Branch police and Woman and Child Development (WCD) department have been selected for a coordinated approach for recovery of missing children from various states like Delhi, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand etc.
The teams have been given interactive inputs at a meeting at the Crime Branch headquarters here on Wednesday by the officers of WCD and Labour departments and the Crime Branch.
These teams will be on a special mission to seven states and Delhi NCR from September 16 to 30 on basis of available inputs.
Mentioned hereunder is the tour of the eight teams of the Odisha Police to the following states.
Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate police-Delhi, NCR; Central Range police-Maharashtra; Southern Range, Berhampur-Andhra Pradesh; South Western Range, Koraput-Telangana; Northern Range, Sambalpur-Chhattisgarh; North Central Range, Talcher-Tamil Nadu; Western Range, Rourkela-Jharkhand and Eastern Range, Balasore-West Bengal.
The eight teams will reach their destination states by September 18 and cover the allotted state up to September 29.
One WCD officer will accompany each team to take part in the drive.
On return, all the teams will report at Bhubaneswar along with the rescued children, who shall be received by WCD representatives for their rehabilitation.
Emphasis has been laid on the integration of the rescued children to the mainstream and their subsequent rehabilitation in collaboration with all stakeholders.
