Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has sought the help of Delhi Crime Branch to trace the members of the ‘Bawaria’ gang.
According to sources, the Commissionerate Police had conducted investigation with their counterparts in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi following the arrest of 4 members of the notorious gang on May 22. After the investigation to trace other members of the gang, a team of Odisha Police will leave for New Delhi to take up the matter with the Crime Branch there, the sources said.
The police have ascertained the identity of the arrested gang members through test identification (TI) parade. All the four arrested persons belong to Uttar Pradesh.
During the investigation and interrogation of the arrested members, the police came to know about other members of the gang who were also involved in several criminal cases across the state.
The gang members were involved in at least 28 cases in different parts of the state, including Cuttack, Cuttack Rural, Puri, Khurda and Bhadrak districts.
