Bhawanipatna: The Vigilance sleuths on Thursday arrested Ugrasen Patel, Sub- Inspector of Police, Golamunda police station in Odisha’a Kalahandi district in connection with the seizure of Rs 2 lakh from his possession yesterday.
He has been forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance here.
Patel was intercepted near Golamunda bus stand while he was going towards the police station.
“The money has been seized. Simultaneous search of his quarter and office room at Golamunda and his house at his native village located at Balangir was conducted. Assessment and valuation of assets based on searches carried out at his office and residential locations is under progress,” said an official of Koraput Vigilance division.
