Odisha Police SI Exam Scam: CBI Grills 6 More, Plans To Question 114 Candidates



Bhubaneswar: Intensifying the probe into Odisha Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment exam scam, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has now set its focus on candidates who allegedly paid bribes to get jobs.

The central probe agency has already interrogated ten candidates in the first phase, while plans are afoot to question all 114 aspirants linked to the case and record their statements. These candidates, who had been arrested by the Odisha Crime Branch, are now out on bail.

er taking over the probe in the high-profile case, the CBI is stated to have obtained significant leads and is actively pursuing the main conspirators behind the alleged scam. Earlier, the Odisha Crime Branch and Berhampur police had questioned several people and collected all essential documents related to the case.

While four persons were grilled by the CBI on Friday, six others appeared before the agency at its office in Bhubaneswar for interrogation on Saturday.

The fresh rounds of interrogation is expected to uncover vital links and shed more light on the methods used to manipulate recruitment data.

Shankar Prusty, a key accused in the case, was arrested near the Indo-Nepal border after being untraceable for more than a month. During questioning, he was confronted with another accused, Muna Mohanty, to verify how recruitment-related data was allegedly accessed and tampered with.
