Bhubaneswar: An absconding drug peddler, Suraj Dalabehera alias Sonu, was apprehended by the Special Task Force of Odisha Crime Branch on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of STF raided and apprehended Sonu of Mukundaprasad in Khurda town.
He was wanted in a case dated January 25, 2022, in which police had seized 3.100 kg brown sugar, Rs 65.32 lakh cash, three 7 MM Pistol, seven Magazines, 43 rounds of 7 MM ammunition and other incriminating materials from the possession of accused persons.
Dalabehera was absconding since the occurrence. He was arrested on February 28 and forwarded to court of District and Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge Court, Nayagarh on the same day.
So far, four persons have been arrested and forwarded to court.
Dalabehera was also involved in many cases of extortion, robbery, attempt to murder, etc, stated a release by Odisha Police.
