Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has appointed Nimapara MLA Samir Ranjan Dash as its observer for Dhenkanal Parliamentary constituency and Arundhati Kumari Devi as its state general secretary.
The two appointments are perceived as BJD’s attempt to pacify ticket aspirants with organisational posts. While the ruling party has denied ticket to Samir for the ensuing elections, it dropped Arundhati after announcing her as party candidate for Deogarh Assembly seat in Sambalpur district.
Wife of Sambalpur MP Nitesh Gangdev, Arundhati had joined BJD on April 16. Gangdev belongs to erstwhile royal family of Deogarh.
