Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nikunj Bihari Dhal reviewed the preparations for dual elections in six districts with collectors and SPs in BHubaneswar on Monday.
Addressing the officers of Khurda, Puri, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara districts at the meeting, Dhal stressed on free, disciplined, impartial, transparent and mistake-free elections which are held as great festival of democracy in the country.
The collectors, who are district election officers, furnished detailed information about the election preparations through PPT presentation. Similarly, the SPs made presentations on preparations on law and order, inspection and seizure in their districts.
The CEO held detailed discussion on various aspects of the preparations in both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. He directed the collectors, additional collectors, deputy collectors, SPs, senior police officers and returning officers to ensure fool-proof arrangements at booth level.
It was revealed at the meeting that special arrangements will be made in all polling centres in view of summer. Each polling center will have adequate drinking water, separate toilets for women and men, shade for queuing, stalls and waiting rooms. Uninterrupted power system will be ensured for running the fans for the voters.
