Bhubaneswar: The former MLA of BJD from Chitrakonda in Odisha’s Malkangiri district, Dambaru Sisa, on Thursday resigned from the party.
In a letter to BJD president and chief minister Naveen Patnaik, Sisa said, “I am tendering my resignation from the primary membership of Biju Janata Dal. Having been a member of the party for the last 16 years, it is now time for me to move on.”
Sisa, who was elected on party ticket from Chitrakonda in 2014 elections, further said, “My aim and purpose will always remain to serve the people of my state and constituency.”
Stating that he was unable to serve his purpose by remaining within the party, he said, “In order to meet the aspirations of my people and my workers, I believe it is the best to look forward to a fresh start. I would like to thanks to all my party colleagues for providing me a platform to serve my people.”
