Bhubaneswar: The postmortem report of the woman journalist Madhumita Parida, who allegedly died after jumping in front of a train in Odisha capital, has revealed multiple injuries on her body.
She was alive for some time after being dragged by the train and died due to the injuries, sources said quoting the postmortem report.
Madhumita, who worked for a web channel, was found dead on railway tracks in Bapuji Nagar area here on July 24 evening. Hours before her death, a video purportedly recorded by Madhumita was posted on social media in which she accused her husband of harassing her and having multiple affairs. A day later, Dhauli police arrested her husband Sridhar Jena, a staff in Air Force, on charges of murder on the basis of a complaint filed by her family, alleging that he was harassing her since the last few days and pushed her in front of the moving train.
Sources further said that Sridhar’s mobile phone will be sent to the Forensic Department to trace the call and chat history, which will help in the further investigation of the case.
Madhumita and Shridhar had got married on March 1, 2024. They had even appeared before the local police a day before the incident to resolve their personal issues.
