Odisha Prays For COVID-Infected Tapu Mishra As Her Condition Remains Critical

Bhubaneswar: It has been almost a month since leading Odia singer Tapu Mishra was admitted to a private hospital here after testing positive for COVID. Amid reports that her condition continued to remain critical, speedy recovery wishes and prayers poured in from the Odia film fraternity and her well-wishers on Wednesday.

“Tapu is serious. Please pray for her,” wrote veteran actor Mahasweta Ray on her Facebook timeline.

Playback singer Satyajeet Pradhan requested everyone to pray for her and wrote: “Jaldi bhala heijao Mahaprabhu Jagannath knu etiki prarthana”.

“She is very serious, collective prayer needed,” wrote actor Buddhaditya Mohanty.

Noted Odissi dancer Saswat Joshi also prayed for her speedy recovery. “Guhari suna Bhagawana. Lord Jagannatha please please take care of Tapu Mishra … we pray under your Lotus feet Tapu you are a strong Girl and you will sing again.. studios are waiting for you.”

Tapu’s Facebook timeline has been flooded with prayers from her well-wishers and fans.

The singer was admitted to the hospital on May 19 evening. She was later shifted to the intensive care facility as her condition deteriorated, family sources said.

Notably, she had lost her father on May 10 due to COVID-related complications.
