Puri: A prisoner was found hanging inside Puri District jail on Friday morning. The deceased has been identified as Biswanath Barik of Shishapur village under Brahmagiri police limits.
According to sources, Biswanath was found hanging with a towel tied around his neck inside the bathroom of the prison.
From preliminary investigation, it is suspected that the accused might have committed suicide.
It is pertinent to mention here that he was behind the bars in connection with a sexual assault case.
