Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the 150th birth anniversary celebration of the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi, the Odisha government has initiated the process for the release of prisoners who have been languishing in jail for a long time.
The Home Department has formed a three-member committee comprising the Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Secretary, Law and the Additional Director General (ADG), Prisons and Correctional Services as members.
The committee will prepare a list of eligible prisoners to be released from jail.
