Odisha: Project Associate Of PIA Nabbed For Taking Rs 50,000 Bribe

Phulbani: The Odisha Vigilance on Wednesday arrested Nagendra Nath Swain, Project Associate of PIA (Project Implementing Agency) Office in Tumudibandha, Baliguda in Kandhamal district for taking bribe.

Acting on a tip-off, the Berhampur anti-corruption team laid a trap against Nagendra while demanding and accepting cash of Rs 50,000 from a complainant for processing the bills towards payment for execution of farm ponds by four beneficiaries of Dupi and Edipadar villages.

The entire bribe money has been seized from Nagendra’s possession. A case has been registered with Sambalpur Vigilance under Section 7 (b) of The Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.
