Puri: Even as the man accused of raping a five-year-old, who is under treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, is still roaming free, another minor girl in Odisha’s Puri was allegedly sexually assaulted by her father.
Sea Beach police have arrested the man for sexually assaulting his two-year-old daughter on the basis of a complaint lodged by his wife.
The woman stated in her complaint that her husband Rajkamal Karmakar used to beat her for stopping him from indulging in such sexual activities with their daughter. On Monday night when he again tried to assault the child, the scared woman and her mother left the house in and informed police.
Last year, the man was jailed for 8 months for beating his wife and injuring the child, said his wife.
“The man is being interrogated in this connection and we have sent him for medical examination. Further action will be taken on the basis of outcome of the probe,” Additional SP, Mihir Panda said.
