Patna: Bihar Governor Phagu Chauhan felicitated the winners of IndiaSkills 2021 Regional Competition-East at Bapu Sabhaghar, here on Saturday. Odisha was ranked first in both Gold and Silver medal tally of the regional competition.
The first position holder was awarded cash prize of Rs 21,000 and a gold medal, while the first runners up were given Rs 11,000 and a silver medal. As many as 98 candidates from 8 states and Union Territory were declared winners of the competition.
Besides Odisha, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Mizoram, Tripura and West Bengal participated in the eastern competition.
More than 240 candidates competed in 42 skills including cooking, restaurant service, confectionery/pastry cook, beauty therapy, hairdressing, mechanical engineering design (CAD), web design, electronics, IT software solutions, graphic design technology and mobile robotics from October 20 to 23.
The winners of regional competitions will compete at the national level scheduled in December and its winners will participate in the WorldSkills Competition to be held in Shanghai, China in October 2022.
