Rayagada: Amitabh Singhal, DRM, Rayagada division in Odisha, took stock of the progress of railway infrastructure projects during a visit on Sunday.
During his maiden visit to the division after assuming charge on January 10, Singhal interacted with the members of Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Station Consultative Committee at Koraput station. He inspected Koraput-Araku-Kottavalasa section and reviewed ongoing developmental activities.
Speaking to the media in Koraput, the divisional railway manager (DRM) said priority would be given to expediting infrastructure development, safety improvements, and enhancing connectivity. Following the announcement of the new division, the region’s priorities would be given significant focus and both business and tourism activities would see notable growth, he added.
Later, he conducted window trailing inspection from Koraput to Kottavalasa, overseeing the safety aspects including points and crossing, signalling system, tunnels, ongoing infrastructure development activities and assessing the progress of amenities in the section.
