Odisha Received Landmark Investment Proposals At Biz Summit Due To PM Modi’s ‘Guarantee’: Minister

Bhubaneswar: After Odisha received investment intents to the tune of Rs 16.73 lakh crore during the just-concluded business summit, Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling on Thursday said it was possible because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantee.

The guarantee issued by the Prime Minister to industrialists and business leaders at the Utkarsh Odisha Conclave in Bhubaneswar had a tremendous impact on investors who are now very keen to set up projects in the state, Mahaling told reporters.

Notably, the state attracted investment intents of Rs 16.73 lakh crore, expected to create 12.88 lakh job opportunities in the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave held in Bhubaneswar. This significant investment boost is backed by as many as 145 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed during the two-day-long Conclave, which was inaugurated by Modi on Tuesday.

PM Modi in his message to global industries said that Odisha is now an excellent place for investment, the Minister said, adding that the Prime Minister also stressed that this is the right and ideal time to make investment in the state.

“The Prime Minister was himself present and gave his guarantee (Modi Ki Guarantee) for investments in Odisha. He has extended absolute support to the state,” he said.

In a double engine government, the Prime Minister has played his role expected of him, while the state government is fully committed to translating the investment proposals into full-fledged projects and commissioning new ventures, the Minister said.

Mahaling further stated that the state government has formed an exclusive team at the level of Ministers and officials to ensure that the investment intents are grounded soon.

Stating that there is enormous scope for the growth of IT and semiconductor sector, he said the state government is taking concrete steps to promote the MSME sector in a big way.

As PM Modi reiterated his commitment to making Odisha a growth engine for eastern India, his words have played a significant role in turning Odisha into a more attractive destination for industrial ventures, said Mahaling.
